Group Lead Support Worker – Beehive Group 

People in Action has been working with people with learning disabilities in Leeds since 1983. We have an exciting opportunity for an Group Lead Support Worker to join our wonderful team at People in Action. 

The post holder is required to be part of the Changing Lives service in the role of Lead Support Worker for Beehive Club based at Crossgreen Community Centre, Pool Road, Otley. The post holder will support our members to participate and learn life skills in health and wellbeing, independence, sport, social and leisure activities.

We are looking for an experienced and approachable individual to join our Beehive Group team.  You will be working closely with a Support Worker and volunteers, the successful candidate will support our members to participate and learn life skills in health and wellbeing, independence, sport, social and leisure activities. It will be important for the candidate to be committed to delivering outcome-based activities with a strong person-centred approach.

Salary: £10.33 per hour

Service Coordinator – Maternity Cover for up to 12 months

People in Action has been working with people with learning disabilities in Leeds since 1983. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Care Coordinator to join our wonderful team at People in Action on a temporary maternity cover basis.  We pride ourselves on quality, person-centred care and are looking for a fast paced, self-motivated and member focused Care Coordinator who has the ability to multi task and work well under pressure to meet deadlines. You will have an excellent telephone manner along with good communication and have the ability to work effectively with colleagues and our members.

This will be a busy role; excellent time management, organisational skills and a keen eye for detail are key.

This post is a maternity contract for up to 12 months (subject to review) and is a full time position working between Monday and Friday, with a requirement to cover on call every 9 weeks approximately. The annual salary is £21,600 per annum plus on call allowance.

The post is based at The Old Fire Station, Gipton, Leeds.

Registered Manager

People in Action has been working with people with learning disabilities in Leeds since 1983. We are in the process of registering with the Care Quality Commission as part of our development plans to reach more people across the city. To achieve this we are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager who currently holds, or is working towards a Level 5 Diploma – Leadership & Management in Adult Care or equivalent.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our team, who has the ambition and drive to get the job done to the best of their ability, along with exceptional administrative skills. The successful candidate will lead and manage the whole Count Me In Service, ensuring the delivery of outcome focused, personalised support for the members, which empowers them to meet their needs and fulfil their aspirations.

This will be a busy role; excellent time management, organisational skills and a keen eye for detail are key.

This post is a full time position working between Monday and Friday, with a requirement to cover on call every 9 weeks approximately. The annual salary is £30,900 plus on call allowance.

The post is based at The Old Fire Station, Gipton however there is an expectation of travel during work time in Leeds and surrounding areas.

Weekend Support Worker – Count Me In One to One Service 

People in Action has been working with people with learning disabilities in Leeds since 1983. We have an exciting opportunity that has arisen within our Count Me In Service (One to One support) for support workers who are available to work over the weekend.

The role will be to provide one to one support that is tailored to meet the individual needs of the member and fulfil their personal goals.  The successful candidate will support our members who have mild, moderate to complex needs and/or challenging behaviour, with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s and mental health difficulties. The Support Worker will support the members to access social opportunities that are available at the weekend. This will require a flexible and imaginative approach to fulfilling the choices requiring building up of knowledge and contacts within local services.       

We are looking for an individual with a minimum of 12 months experience working within a care / support work setting. The individual will have the ability to encourage and engage our members to meet their needs and aspirations.

 Fundraising Trustee

People in Action are looking for a committed experienced person, to join the Board of Trustees. We are looking for someone with experience of fundraising, to help identify new opportunities, build strong relationships with potential funders in the locality, oversee our funding strategy and take the lead on the Board for fundraising activities.  
The Board of Trustees sets the vision, the strategic direction, and management of the charity. It is responsible for overall governance which includes being guardians of the charity’s assets, overseeing operational effectiveness, funding, finance, and human resources. All trustees are unpaid. The Board meets every two months, usually on Mondays between 6pm – 8pm.
