Outdoor Pursuits Group Support Worker

Do you have a person centered approach with an empowering personality? We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has an interest in the outdoors and the ambition to support our members during activities.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults who may have a learning disability, Autism or Aspergers. Knowledge of a person centered approach, with an interest in the outdoors.  You will be able to converse effectively and sensitively with members, parent and carers and any other support units. 

Salary Rate:  £8.01 per hour                         

Hours: 5 hours on Sunday, 10am – 3pm

Location: Various locations in and around Leeds

Holidays: 5.6 weeks pro rata (Inclusive of statutory and bank holidays)

Responsible to: Personal Health and Wellbeing Project Coordinator

Co-Lead Group Support Worker – Pudsey Group

Are you person centred and strive to meet the needs of others? We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Changing Lives Pudsey group to support the Group Lead and our members.  You will be working closely with an experienced Group Lead Support Worker the post holder will support our members to participate and learn life skills in health and wellbeing, independence, sport, social and leisure activities.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with adults who may have a learning disability, Autism or Aspergers. Knowledge of a person centered approach, with a positive and creative mind towards delivering outcome based activities that meet the needs of our members. You will be able to converse effectively and sensitively with members, parent and carers and any other support units. 

Salary Rate: £9.19 per hour

Day: Weekly on Thursday Evenings

Hours: 4 hours per week – 3 hours delivery 6:30pm – 9:30pm (this includes the additional hour for setting up and closing down of the session) plus 1 additional hour per week. 

Location: Preisthorpe School, Preisthorpe Lane, LS28 5SG

Leeds Stars – Volunteer Coordinator

Leeds Stars is an exciting new affiliated Special Olympics club that provide an all year round, all ability, sports program of both a recreational and competitive nature across Leeds for athletes with learning disabilities with pathways to the Special Olympics and regional and national competitions.

We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to be the point of contact for all volunteers within Leeds Stars Club. He / she is responsible for ensuring that the requested number of volunteers are assigned to the required roles for the everyday running of the club and in their competitions and that all volunteers are officially registered with Special Olympics Great Britain. He / she should ensure that all volunteers are deployed appropriately, valued and recognised for their time and contribution.

Role: This is a voluntary, unpaid role 

Hours: 12 hours per month

Location: The Old Fire Station, Gipton Approach, Gipton, Leeds, LS9 6NL (Home working / alternative location is acceptable for this role)

 Count Me In Support Workers

To provide one to one support that is tailored to meet the individual needs of the Member and fulfill their personal goals.  To support our Members who have mild, moderate to complex needs and/or challenging behaviour, with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s and mental health difficulties. The Support Worker will support the Members to access services or activities of their choice.  This will require a flexible and imaginative approach to fulfilling the choices requiring building up of knowledge and contacts within local services.       

Salary Rate: £8.01 per hour

 Fundraising Trustee

People in Action are looking for a committed experienced person, to join the Board of Trustees. We are looking for someone with experience of fundraising, to help identify new opportunities, build strong relationships with potential funders in the locality, oversee our funding strategy and take the lead on the Board for fundraising activities.  

The Board of Trustees sets the vision, the strategic direction, and management of the charity. It is responsible for overall governance which includes being guardians of the charity’s assets, overseeing operational effectiveness, funding, finance, and human resources. All trustees are unpaid. The Board meets every two months, usually on Mondays between 6pm – 8pm.

Location: Gipton, Leeds
