Project Manager – PIA Presents

Salary Rate: £25,000 per annum (pro rata)

Hours: 1.5 days per week

Contract: 12 months fixed term contract

Location: The Old Fire Station, Gipton, Leeds, LS9 6NL

PIA Presents is a new project that develops and promotes the talent of people with learning disabilities and autism through the provision of entertainment opportunities. 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following;

To develop and showcase the talent of people with learning disabilities and autism the sustainable project will provide:

  • a weekly performing arts group that provides opportunities for artists and performers to meet, rehearse and learn new performance skills.
  • quarterly club nights/live music events, showcasing new and existing talent.
  • an annual talent event for adults of all ages with a learning disability or autism.
  • opportunities for members of the learning disability and autism community to develop event management skills; front of house, sales and marketing, light and sound etc.
  • opportunities for artists to perform at other external events.
  • a mentoring scheme provided by students and dedicated members of the performing arts community.

Service Manager – Count Me In Service

Salary Rate: £27,248 per annum

Hours: 37.5 hours per week 

Location: Office Based – The Old Fire Station, Gipton, Leeds, LS9 6NL

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and experienced service manager to join our established Count Me In Team. The successful candidate will have experience within a social care environment, who has delivered high quality, successful service in a social care background, ideally with adults and young people with learning disabilities including Autism and Aspergers.

You will be responsible for proactively building and recruiting new members / staff to our Count Me In Service. To line manage a team of remote support workers, drive performance within the remote team; ensuring the optimum resourcing levels are used and staff are clear on the standard that is expected of them. To manage an allocated case load of members; assessing members on initial referral, support planning, and regularly reviewing the service to ensure outcomes/needs are being met.

Hours: 2 hours Friday evenings 6.30pm – 8.30pm

An exciting opportunity has arose at our Beeston group, we are recruiting for a group support worker. This is a maternity cover role for up to 12 months. This is a social group that has recently been successful in recent changes which has resulted in an increase in members attending the group.

Support Workers – Count Me In One to One Service

To provide one to one support that is tailored to meet the individual needs of the Member and fulfill their personal goals.  To support our Members who have mild, moderate to complex needs and/or challenging behaviour, with learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Asperger’s and mental health difficulties. The Support Worker will support the Members to access services or activities of their choice.  This will require a flexible and imaginative approach to fulfilling the choices requiring building up of knowledge and contacts within local services.       
Salary Rate: £9.00 per hour

Leeds Stars – Volunteer Coordinator

Leeds Stars is an exciting new affiliated Special Olympics club that provide an all year round, all ability, sports program of both a recreational and competitive nature across Leeds for athletes with learning disabilities with pathways to the Special Olympics and regional and national competitions.
We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to be the point of contact for all volunteers within Leeds Stars Club. He / she is responsible for ensuring that the requested number of volunteers are assigned to the required roles for the everyday running of the club and in their competitions and that all volunteers are officially registered with Special Olympics Great Britain. He / she should ensure that all volunteers are deployed appropriately, valued and recognised for their time and contribution.
Role: This is a voluntary, unpaid role 
Hours: 12 hours per month
Location: The Old Fire Station, Gipton Approach, Gipton, Leeds, LS9 6NL (Home working / alternative location is acceptable for this role)

 Fundraising Trustee

People in Action are looking for a committed experienced person, to join the Board of Trustees. We are looking for someone with experience of fundraising, to help identify new opportunities, build strong relationships with potential funders in the locality, oversee our funding strategy and take the lead on the Board for fundraising activities.  
The Board of Trustees sets the vision, the strategic direction, and management of the charity. It is responsible for overall governance which includes being guardians of the charity’s assets, overseeing operational effectiveness, funding, finance, and human resources. All trustees are unpaid. The Board meets every two months, usually on Mondays between 6pm – 8pm.
Location: Gipton, Leeds
